    • Specialist BESS/Hybrid Solar Developer
    • 1.5 GW of projects and growing spread across the Eastern States
    • Newly created Sydney based position
    Your new company

    Is a specialist developer, owner and operator of large-scale battery energy storage systems across the NEM. They have over 1 GW portfolio of large-scale BESS projects across four states and will be both developing and purchasing more. It is majority owned by an ASX listed  alternative asset manager. 

    Your new position

    You will lead environmental initiatives in renewable energy projects, specialising in standalone BESS and hybrid Solar Farms, ensuring regulatory approvals and compliance:
    • Regulatory Approvals - Oversee the permitting process, including applications for local, state and Commonwealth environmental permits;
    • Managing External Planning & Enviro Consultants - Managing, reviewing outputs and prioritising external consultants to achieve best for project outcomes to ready to build status; 
    • Environmental Impact Assessments -Address potential impacts and proposing effective mitigation measures;
    • Community and Stakeholder Engagement - Cultivate positive relationships with local communities, addressing concerns, and ensuring transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle;
    • Environmental Referrals - Lead and manage the preparation of environmental referral documentation for submission to regulatory bodies;
    • Project Planning - Develop comprehensive project plans for projects, integrating environmental considerations into every phase.
    Who you are

    You have: 
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or related field;
    • Extensive experience in managing planning and environmental aspects of renewable energy projects in Australia;
    • In-depth knowledge of state and Commonwealth environmental regulations and the environmental referral process;
    • Strong understanding of the Australian environmental impact assessment framework.
