- Adelaide based role
Incorporates the trading of physical energy (gas and electricity) with the requirement to capture and settle contracts for hedging, trading and portfolio purposes as well as a vast array of wholesale operations needs such as nominations, pipeline logistics, market analysis and reporting.
Already an international company they are continuing to expand both in Australia and internationally which will impact on this role with some interesting global interaction and potential travel.
Your new role
You’ll lead the team in the day-to-day operation of the energy trading, load forecasting across electricity, gas, and renewable portfolios. You will provide detailed analysis to support the Energy Trading teams management of short, medium, and long term wholesale market exposures across respective electricity, renewable and gas portfolios.
You’ll manage the relationship of the Energy Trading and other teams to support future product development and balance the management of energy market risks. You will have direct contact with clients in their respective control rooms and power plants in addition to staffing and other HR related issues in managing the trading team.
Who you are
You’ll have a deep understanding of energy markets, have a strong analytical and forecasting mindset, with the ability to demonstrate high level commercial acumen. You’ll have highly developed risk analysis skills related to energy trading.
You’ll have a degree, or equivalent competency, in a numerate discipline such as Finance, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics or similar. Understanding of Energy Trading in the National Energy Market is important.
